The gates of The President's House opened on July 13, 2026, and twenty-six ordinary young men and women stepped inside.![]()

Some arrived with quiet confidence. Others carried nervous hearts, unanswered questions, and no idea what lay ahead. They thought they were coming to a pan camp. They were wrong. Because on this day, a new generation of heroes was about to answer the call.![]()

Chosen not by superpowers, but by courage, curiosity, and the willingness to listen, learn and grow, they would soon discover that the panyard is more than a place where music is made—it is where character is forged, communities are built, and futures are transformed. On Day 5, the campers were joined by decorated pannist Natasha Joseph for an interactive steelpan session before hearing from attorney and speaker Veera Bhajan, whose presentation, The Power of Perspective, encouraged the young musicians to approach challenges with confidence, resilience, and a positive outlook, regardless of one's circumstances. ![]()

The campers were also joined by the youths of Highlanders Steel Orchestra and Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille for an afternoon of learning, music, and shared experiences.![]()

Every guest who visits The President's Pan Camp brings a different story and every story leaves the campers with something new.![]()

On Day 4, July 16, featured pannist Keisha Codrington and guest mentor DJ Ana, joined by Ultra Simmo, shared their life and musical experiences with the pan campers. Players from Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra of Tobago and Golden Hands Steel Orchestra of San Fernando also joined the afternoon's activities, creating a memorable experience of music and inspiration.![]()

As the week continued to unfold, the campers and guests discovered that the steelpan is more than an instrument—it is a gateway to opportunity, mentorship, and lifelong friendships.![]()

Joined by players from Cordette Steel Orchestra of Sangre Grande and Tornadoes Steel Orchestra of Point Fortin, the campers spent the afternoon of July 15 exploring the power of legacy, purpose, and charting their own path with featured pannist Obadele Allick and soca artiste Nailah Blackman.![]()

As the granddaughter of Ras Shorty I, regarded as the inventor of soca music, Nailah encouraged the campers to honour the legacies that have shaped them while having the courage to create their own. Together with Obadele Allick, the afternoon's sessions challenged the young musicians to think beyond music and embrace the values that will guide them throughout life.![]()
